SAINT Releases Version 7.5 including FDCC and USGCB Security Checklist Policies

Update offers customers the ability to do security benchmark testing based on NIST FDCC and USGCB policies

November 29, 2010 (Bethesda, MD) – SAINT Corporation, a global leader in vulnerability assessment and penetration testing, today announced a major new product release. While SAINT has been SCAP validated for almost a year, SAINT now includes Federal Desktop Core Configuration (FDCC) and U.S. Government Configuration Baseline (USGCB) checklist policies provided by NIST that are Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) validated, including:

  • FDCC – Windows XP
  • FDCC – Windows XP Firewall
  • FDCC – Windows Vista
  • FDCC – Windows Vista Firewall
  • FDCC – IE7 Browser
  • USGCB – Windows 7
  • USGCB – Windows 7 Firewall
  • USBCG – IE8 Browser

SAINT also provides coverage for over 15 platforms and 9500+ checks from Mitre's OVAL Repository. SAINT will add additional policies as they become available from the U.S. Government repository of Security checklists (benchmarks) in the NIST vulnerability database.

SAINT 7.5 features an easy-to-use new interface for importing and editing scanning policies. OVAL check coverage for IBM AIX has also been included. SAINT supports NIST XCCDF/compliance benchmarks and OVAL Schema v.5.8. SAINT provides full support for “SCAP v.1.0, Revision 2 Update” of the SCAP Validated Test Requirements as an Authenticated Vulnerability and Patch Scanner, and Unauthenticated Vulnerability Scanner.
